Developing women leaders is our mission. As the oldest and largest organization serving women professionals in cable telecommunications, Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) is at the forefront of an industry undergoing constant change. Since its founding in 1979, WICT has remained steadfast in its resolve to advance the position and influence of women through proven leadership programs and services at both the national and local level.
Local Chapters are the heart of Women in Cable Telecommunications. They provide local meetings and seminars, training and the exchange of ideas for telecommunications professionals nationwide.

WICT embraces a spirit of collaboration within its organization and throughout the industry. We partner with cable and telecommunications industry leaders to provide leadership programs and services, and challenge these companies to create professional advancement opportunities for women.

The Michigan Chapter is one of the most active chapters of Women in Cable and Telecommunications. We host a number of events from Networking to Panel Discussions; from Charity events to Professional Development.
Michigan is the proud recipient of the Pinnacle Award for 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. We were also named Chapter of the Year for 2002 & 2003 for medium sized chapters. The Pinnacle Award is given to a chapter who meets and exceeds their business plan goals. We have consistently exceeded our goals in membership and event participation! Chapter of the Year is award to chapters who have outstanding and successful programs. The Michigan Chapter continues to provide programs that provide value to the membership and meet the business & professional needs of the individuals.

The Michigan Chapter supports the National WICT goals through participation & support to the PAR Initiative, WICT Foundation, and attendance at National Programs and leadership conference calls.
We hope that as a member of the Michigan Chapter that you will find greater value in your membership as you participate in events, as our goal is to provide programs that meet your needs and interests. Each year we host a New Member Orientation Wine Tasting event in February or March. In June, we host an intriguing panel discussion entitled “Leaders Who Transform the Industry, ” featured topics include Risk Management: When to Take a Risk and When Not To (2004) and Change Management (2005). In October, we recognize an outstanding person in the industry with our Carla Laufer Award. In November, we host our Annual Holiday Charity Auction! We hope that you will join us for these fantastic events!
Listen. We heard that you wanted to get to know one another better.
In an effort to bring about greater collaboration between the various telecommunications organizations serving the cable industry in Michigan, WICT initiated a new Industry Social Hour event held in August of 2004 and it has become an annual signature event! Collaborating with other telecommunications organizations such as CTAM, NAMIC, MCTA, SCTE, the event is quickly becoming the best meeting date of the year! This event is FREE for all to socialize!
