WICT Student Memberships Overview
Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) is a world-class provider of innovative leadership programs as well as a powerful advocate for gender diversity and equality in the cable industry. WICT New England is one of the highest regarded chapters receiving numerous awards annually for its valuable members, quality events and numerous sponsorships.
The WICT Student Membership Program’s mission is to educate students about careers in the cable and telecommunications industry while simultaneously helping groom, support and inspire future leaders.
WICT New England Individual Student Membership - $35
Individual Paying Members will Receive:
- A WICT New England “Buddy”
- Informal connection with a local chapter member who will reach out to new student member and answer job related/career seeking questions or a preferred introductory topic by student
- Free entry to all Student WICT programs. Two events each year ranging from educational panels to networking. Below are the potential events for 2008.
- ESPN Outing and Industry Job Education Panel – Visit to ESPN Campus – Panel of cable industry leaders to discuss and hold a Q&A about jobs and internships in the cable industry (Scheduled for September)
- Panel II – Getting the Job/Internship – A panel of WICT members discuss job search tips and skills on how to get the job you want. Informal mini-interviews can take place afterward. (Scheduled for November)
- Member benefits for all WICT National and WICT New England Events
- Networking opportunities, national and local events, leadership seminars, case-studies for industry trend education, etc.
WICT New England Group Student Membership Program
University/College Group program - Minimum of 10-student memberships = $350
Group Members Receive the Following Privileges:
- WICT will bring a panel of various cable professionals to speak at a University event/fair/college services department for a 2-hour event
- University/college will be recognized on the WICT New England website as a premier member
- All undergraduate students at the University/College are able to attend WICT Student events for free** (**Please note, some events may have a limited number of spaces, so RSVP early for each event.)
- Individual paying member rights including a WICT New England Buddy for each paying Group Student Member, free entry to all Student WICT programs and Member benefits for all WICT National and WICT New England events.
