Elaine Yarbrough, Ph.D., is president of The Yarbrough Group, a consulting group in Boulder, Colorado that specializes in communication, mediation & conflict management, and managing change for individuals, groups, and organizations. During the past 35 years, she has assisted more than 400 organi¬zations, including business and industry, education, government, and human services.
Specific clients include Hewlett Packard, Agilent Technologies, Du Pont Corporation, Air Methods of Denver, Ohmeda Monitoring of Louisville, Celestial Seasonings, Los Angeles County Probation Department, and numerous health care systems, school districts, local and state governments and non-profits in the United States and Internationally. For a period of time she lived in Switzerland and consulted in Central and Eastern Europe and North Africa assisting American multi-nationals with their acquisitions in the midst of cultural turmoil. Since that time she has worked with more than 25 cultures in organizations in England, Ireland, France, Italy and the Czech Republic.
Dr. Yarbrough has her Ph.D. in Communication and Human Relations from the University of Kansas. She is certified in individual, small group development and social change by Associated Consultants International.
For seven years she taught in the Department of Communication, University of Colorado during which time she was recipient of both university teaching awards, given by faculty and students.
Dr. Yarbrough has published three books, numerous articles, and audio and video cassettes in the areas of interpersonal communication, conflict management, and training. Specific publications include:

She has presented more than 40 papers at professional conferences in the areas of communication, conflict and organizational development.
Elaine lives near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with her husband Mike Burr. They have a 23 year old daughter, Lindsay, whose interest is in political leadership.
