US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and WICT President & CEO Benita Fitzgerald Mosley at the Title IX Symposium 2006 hosted by the MARGARET (May All Resolve Girls Achieve Real Equity Today) Fund at the National Women's Law Center on May 1 at the SUNY Purchase College in New York.



The panel, Keeping Title IX Strong for Future Generations, included participants Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, WICT President & CEO Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, IBM Vice President, Strategic Planning to the Society of Women Engineers Florence Hudson, Olympian Teresa Weatherspoon, Con Edison Electrical Engineer Michelle Fisher and SUNY Purchase Assistant Chemistry Professor Joseph Skrivanek.
Attendees included approximately 150 students, 7th grade through college, and 350 parents and organizational and educational representatives from Westchester County and the surrounding area. The event was designed to encourage students' interest in and excitement for math, science, technology and athletics and inform interested adults about the scope and breadth of Title IX and discuss its local and national impact. Benita shared her own experiences as an Olympic athlete and engineer while identifying WICT's Women in Technology Initiative, a new program that aims to help fill the gap of the underrepresentation of women in the technology areas of cable telecommunications.
