Chantilly, VA- At its September board meeting, the WICT Board of Directors appointed Cathy Fogler, Vice President and General Manager of Video, Charter Communications, Inc. to the WICT Board of Directors.  Ms. Fogler’s appointment fills an empty seat on the board created by the departure of Jessica Heacock earlier this summer.

“We are excited to have Cathy as a member of the WICT Board,” said Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, WICT President & CEO.  “She will bring a fresh perspective and valuable experience to our organization as we continue to develop women leaders in the cable industry.”

The WICT Board of Directors is composed of 19 members and is responsible for the oversight and direction of WICT’s membership and educational activities.

Ms. Fogler joined Charter as Vice President of Video Product Management in August, 2006 with overall responsibility for the video product strategy including Digital Video, High-Definition TV, Digital Video Recorders, Pay-Per-View and Video on Demand.  She also has responsibility for determining the long-range video product roadmap and meeting overall profit goals for Charter’s video product lines.

In December, 2006, Charter Chief Marketing Officer Bob Quigley appointed Ms. Fogler to her current position of Vice President and General Manager of Video.  In this role, she is also responsible for defining and delivering video programming content across all video platforms.

Cathy Fogler has nearly a decade of experience in the cable industry, most recently as Vice President of Video Product Management with Adelphia Communications.  She accomplished a great deal in her three years at Adelphia including leading a company-wide video re-packaging and re-pricing effort, launching high-definition content and leading research to develop consumer insights related to video products.

Prior to that, she served as Director of Video Product Management at AT&T Broadband where she led the brand transition team in migrating the TCI brand name to AT&T and developed and launched a multi-media campaign for the initial launch of the company’s digital cable product.

Ms. Fogler was an account executive at Leo Burnett Company in Chicago and began her career in sales at The Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan.

She has been active in civic and industry organizations in Denver and currently serves on the board of Rocky Mountain Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), where she was named Woman of the Year for the 2007 Rocky Mountain WICT Walk of Fame.  Ms. Fogler was also selected to participate at CTAM’s Executive Management Program (“CTAM U”).
Additionally, Ms. Fogler served on the Broadband and Technology Advisory Board for gubernatorial candidate Bill Ritter and subsequently co-chaired the Information Technology Transition team for Governor Bill Ritter after his election in November, 2006.  Ms. Fogler is co-founder of the Kigali Center for Entrepreneurs in Rwanda, Africa and has served on the boards of Denver Telecom Professionals and the Rocky Mountain Chapter of CTAM.  She is on the Board of Trustees at University Park United Methodist Church and was recently appointed to the 2008 Democratic National Convention Finance Committee.

She received her BSE degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and her MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School Of Business.

Cathy and her husband Robert live in Denver and are parents of two sons, Max and Joe.
