Jeannine Sommer joined the Carlsen team in the summer of 2000 as Vice President, Candidate Outreach. In July of 2002 she was promoted to Senior Vice President, Search Management, responsible for overseeing the search process, as well as managing Carlsen's clients and candidates.
Prior to joining Carlsen, Jeannine served as director of executive recruitment for Cablevision Systems, where her responsibilities included executive level searches for all twenty-six properties owned and operated by the company. In addition, she supervised the relationship between executive search firms and Cablevision, while managing the placement of over 30 high level employees across various departments and specialties.
Jeannine began her career in executive search with Bishop Partners as a Research Assistant in 1995. In 1997 she joined Norman Broadbent International as Director of Research. There she assisted senior management in launching the firm's entertainment and new media practice, while putting together a research team responsible for a wide variety of database projects.
In 1998 Jeannine was named Vice President, Entertainment and New Media, responsible for executing and completing searches, while continuing to manage the research team.
She is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and is currently serving on the National Board. In addition, she is a member of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) and the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC).
Jeannine, her husband and daughter live in Brooklyn, New York.
