Nicholas Carr is the author of the new book, The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains.  A prolific and nimble thought leader, Carr is also the author of The Wall Street Journal bestseller, The Big Switch: Rewiring the World, from Edison to Google (2008)and Does IT Matter? (2004). He has written for The Atlantic Monthly, The New York Times Magazine, Wired, The Guardian, The Financial Times, Die Zeit and many other periodicals. 
 
In 2007, eWeek named Carr one of the 100 most influential people in IT and in 2005, Optimize magazine named him one of the leading thinkers on information technology. 

Carr's knowledge of technology evolution and his perspective on its implications for our business and society at large will provide Tech It Out attendees with new insights on where we've come and where we're headed as an industry.
