WICT ANNOUNCES 2008 CHAPTER PRESIDENTS-Chapter of the Year Winners Announced-
Chantilly, VA- Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced the 2008 roster of Chapter Presidents (below). All WICT Chapters are committed to the WICT mission of developing women leaders who transform our industry. Each chapter maintains its own governing board and provides programming which specifically addresses the needs of its members.
In an awards ceremony last week, WICT honored both the Atlanta and Pacific Northwest Chapters as WICT Chapters of the Year. Atlanta also took first place for 2007 Chapter Programming of the Year, with New England in second place and Southern California and Oklahoma tied for third. The Rocky Mountain and Greater Chicago WICT Chapters were recognized with the 2007 WICT Mentoring Excellence Award.
Chapter leaders gathered at the 2008 Chapter Leadership Conference, held last week at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia. WICT staff, board members and chapter leaders share best practices in membership, marketing, programming, sponsorship and research and advocacy. The event, which began Monday, January 14 and concluded on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, included sessions on board governance and branding, as well as the opportunity for chapter leaders from across the country to share their experiences and challenges.
“Many of our members experience WICT through their local chapters,” said Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, WICT President & CEO. “These volunteer leaders are truly the lifeblood of our organization and their WICT leadership experience has a positive impact on both their companies and their careers.”
Mosley added, “The Chapter Leadership Conference provides our volunteer leaders with the opportunity to benefit from the experiences of their peers and interact closely with the WICT board and staff.”
