Chantilly, VA - Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) announced that the application period is now open for the 120 slots in its highly-regarded Rising Leaders Program. Applications for all four classes will be accepted beginning today, Wednesday, November 30, at www.wictrlp.org and must be received no later than 5:00 pm (Eastern) on Friday, January 27, 2012.
The WICT Rising Leaders Program is a competitive, application-based leadership development initiative, designed for emerging leaders with approximately 5-7 years of professional experience who are ready to undertake increased responsibilities. Created in 2006 with the assistance of a grant by the Walter Kaitz Foundation, the program expanded last year due to the overwhelming interest of the cable industry, doubling the number of accepted candidates to 120. Additional support provided by the Kaitz Foundation was instrumental in the expansion of the program.
"The positive response to this program has been incredible, and as a result we were able to double the number of Rising Leaders in the industry in 2011," said Christina Vergara, WICT Vice President of Education & Program Development. "We are committed to filling cable's leadership pipeline with a group of well-trained and highly-capable young women, ready to take on the industry's challenges now and in the future."
The four classes will be split into two time frames and geographic regions for the convenience of class participants as noted. Program details, including the application and fees are available on WICT's website at www.wictrlp.org.
