Chantilly, VA- The Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) Foundation today announced that the 2005 PAR Initiative survey has been distributed to cable operators and programmers throughout the country. The survey, conducted in partnership with Working Mother Media, measures the advancement of women in the cable and telecommunications industry as defined by progress in the areas of Pay Equity (P), Advancement Opportunities (A) and Resources for Work/Life Support (R). The survey submission deadline is May 27, 2005.
The WICT Foundation released the results of the 2004 PAR Initiative in November of 2004, including the Best Companies for Women in Cable lists, an executive summary and report, an industry scorecard, a confidential scorecard for participating companies and a prescriptive to aid companies in their efforts to advance women. Cox Communications, Inc. was the 2004 recipient of the Forerunner Accolade for the Best Operator for Women in Cable. Discovery Communications, Inc. was the 2004 recipient of the Forerunner Accolade for the Best Programmer for Women in Cable.
Companies interested in participating in the PAR Initiative have until May 27, 2005 to complete the survey. The results will be released during the week of November 14, 2005 as part of the 21st Annual WICT Foundation Benefit Gala, which will be held on November 16, 2005.
