Chantilly, VA – Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced that the WICT Leadership Conference, held April 1-2 in Washington, DC, will host the world premiere of 41-year old Olympic swimmer Dara Torres’ book “Age Is Just a Number: Making the Impossible Possible at Any Time in Your Life” (Broadway Books). Torres joins an impressive slate of speakers appearing at the cable industry’s leading forum for women leaders.
The legendary Olympic gold medalist will inspire attendees to reach and maintain their peak performance as leaders by sharing how she stayed competitive while participating in five Olympic Games, including the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Following her keynote address, a special pre-release book signing will be held by Torres exclusively for WICT Leadership Conference attendees.
Torres is part of a stellar line up of leaders brought together by the WICT Leadership Conference, including Political Activist and Strategist, Donna Brazile and Former White House Press Secretary, Dana Perino.
“There’s never been a more important moment to tap into the kind of strategic thinking and determination embodied by these dynamic women,” said Laurie Root, WICT Vice President of Education & Program Development. “The WICT Leadership Conference will present attendees with the tools and insight they need to successfully guide their companies and our industry through these challenging times.”
While the WICT Leadership Conference is a separate event from The Cable Show, attendees will enjoy access to The Cable Show exhibition floor. WICT’s 30-Year Anniversary Reception will also take place during the conference.
