Chantilly, VA- Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced that the 2009 WICT PAR Initiative survey is now available. This year marks the 7th consecutive year WICT has conducted the PAR Initiative. The deadline for completed surveys is Friday, June 5, 2009. The PAR Initiative is WICT's advocacy initiative to both measure and support the advancement of women in the cable and telecommunications industry for the following standards: • Pay Equity where women are paid equal to men at every level. • Advancement opportunities where women are represented in equal numbers to men at every level. • Resources for work/life where companies' work/life support practices enable the ongoing advancement of women at all levels. "Programmers, Operators, Industry Vendors, Suppliers and Non-profits are all encouraged to participate," said Parthavi Das, WICT's Senior Vice President of Strategy & Initiatives. "PAR offers each participating company a truly comprehensive assessment of how their practices compare with other industry organizations competing for top talent." In November, WICT will announce the Best Operator and the Best Programmer for Women in Cable as determined by the results of the WICT PAR Initiative. In 2010, WICT will present the Forerunner Accolades in a WICT hosted celebration for Accolade honorees during Cable Connection Spring. More information on the PAR Initiative can be found at www.wict.org/research/par. Contact Parthavi Das at par@wict.org if you have any questions about participating.
