Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced the 2009 roster of Chapter Presidents and Advisors (below). Chapter Presidents lead a local governing board and directs their chapters’ efforts to provide engaging local programs and mentoring opportunities that develop women leaders. Chapter Advisors are key senior leaders who support WICT chapters through coaching the local WICT board, often serving as mentor, facilitator, advisor and advocate.
Chapter leaders met with WICT board members and staff at the 2009 Chapter Leadership Conference in Tempe, AZ to share best practices in programming, partnership development and to celebrate 2008 Chapter accomplishments. WICT’s Atlanta Chapter was honored as 2008 Chapter of the Year, and fifteen WICT Chapters were recognized with the 2008 WICT Inspiration Award: Atlanta, Carolinas, Greater Chicago, Greater Florida, Greater Texas, New England, New Mexico – Arizona, New York, Pacific Northwest, Greater Philadelphia, Rocky Mountain, South Florida, Southern California, Virginia and Washington, D.C./Baltimore.
“Across the country, WICT Chapters motivate members to develop their talents and achieve their professional goals,” said Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, WICT President & CEO. “Our chapters conducted over 150 successful events in 2008, providing leadership experiences that positively impacted WICT members and the companies they support.”
While at the conference, Ellen East, Chair of the WICT Board of Directors, discussed ideas on how to enhance the WICT member experience in 2009. “As a WICT board member, it's invaluable to hear directly from chapter volunteers about how we can strengthen the organization. I value the opportunity to connect with some of the brightest women leaders in our industry."
