Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced the recipients of three fellowships to the WICT Leadership Conference, to be held April 1-2 in Washington, D.C. The WICT Fellowships enable individuals who may not otherwise be able to attend the WICT Leadership Conference.
Janna Meckowski, sales associate for SeaChange International in Acton, Massachusetts is the recipient of the 2009 June Travis Fellowship. This Fellowship provides full registration and travel expenses to the WICT Leadership Conference. The recipient is selected based in part on his/her ability to demonstrate how the WICT Leadership Conference will help them gain new management and leadership skills and enhance their range or level of expertise. This Fellowship honors June Travis served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the NCTA, and previously as President and Chief Operating Officer of Rifkin & Associates.
Nichole Chapais, associate product manager for Comcast Cable in Manchester, New Hampshire is the recipient of the 2009 Lucille Larkin Fellowship. The Fellowship awards the recipient one full registration to the WICT Leadership Conference as well as an additional $750 for travel and hotel expenses. The recipient was selected based on the applicant’s ability to most effectively demonstrate the value of the contributions they have made to WICT and the industry as a whole. The Fellowship was named in honor of Lucille Larkin, a founding member of WICT, who served as Vice President of Public Affairs for the NCTA and President of the PR Firm, Larkin & Company.
Brandii Marie Toby-Leon, director, press & public relations, DIY Network for Scripps Networks in Knoxville, Tennessee is the recipient of the 2009 Cheryl Greene Fellowship. The Cheryl Greene Fellowship awards the recipient one full registration to the WICT Leadership Conference as well as an additional $750 for travel and hotel expenses. The recipient is selected based on the applicant’s ability to most effectively demonstrate how they have helped the advancement of women in the workplace. The Fellowship was established to memorialize Cheryl Greene by her friends and colleagues in the cable industry.
