Chantilly, VA - Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced that the complete results of the 2011 Pay equity, Advancement opportunities and Resources for work/life support (PAR) Survey are now available.
The 2011 PAR Survey was conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management in collaboration with the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications AIM Survey. In all, 25 companies participated in the survey, representing 54% of the overall cable workforce. "PAR has documented notable advancements for women since launching in 2003," said Parthavi Das, WICT's Chief of Staff, who has served as the PAR staff liaison since its launch. "And while we see some areas that we must focus on to obtain growth, we are pleased with the overall trending." Added WICT President & CEO, Maria Brennan, "In the coming year, we will undertake an aggressive advocacy campaign to disseminate best practices from the PAR data in order to assist companies with honing their diversity and inclusion tactics." In 2012, WICT will conduct a series of webinars for its members called "PAR at Work," which will provide information about how members can apply lessons from the PAR Initiative in the areas of pay equity, advancement opportunities and resources for work/life support. WICT will also publish a "Path to PAR" report that delves into top practices as identified by diversity experts, while sharing case studies from the 2011 PAR Initiative Executive Report. Finally, the WICT Signature Luncheon will recognize and showcase the PAR Best Companies during a luncheon being held in conjunction with The Cable Show on May 21, 2012, at the Westin Boston Waterfront.
