Chantilly, VA - Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced its 2011 Chapter award recipients. In addition, the 2012 Chapter Presidents and Chapter Advisors were announced.

The WICT Chapter awards measure important aspects of the Model Chapter Business Plan (MCBP), and Chapters earn points for performance that meets or exceeds guidelines laid out in the MCBP. The Chapter of the Year award is presented to the top performing Chapter(s) as measured by MCBP scores in areas such as programming, governance and membership. In 2011, three Chapters earned the maximum number of points possible, and each received the Chapter of the Year award: WICT Greater Chicago, New England, and Rocky Mountain. This is the third year in a row that WICT New England has earned the Chapter of the Year award.

WICT also recognized the Chapter President of the Year, WICT New England's Jennifer Kirkwood, Senior Director, Affiliate Business Operations, Disney and ESPN Media Networks; and the Chapter Advisor of the Year, Lindsay Johnston, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Comcast, who supported the WICT Greater Philadelphia Chapter.
 
"As the local touch point for many of WICT's members, Chapters serve a vital role in providing services and resources that help our members grow professionally," said Lisa McBee-Granados, WICT's Senior Director of Chapter Relations. "Our individual and Chapter honorees exemplify the very best that WICT has to offer, and I'm privileged to work with all 19 WICT Chapters throughout the year."

In addition, WICT recognizes the following 2011 Chapter honorees:

• WICT Chapter Leader of the Year presented to Brent Clark, Project Producer, Turner Operations, who served as the Programming Chair for WICT Southeast.
• WICT Chapter Volunteer of the Year awarded to an individual who has shown exemplary volunteer support of WICT, presented to Keely Buchanan, Manager, Corporate Communications & Distance Learning, Time Warner Cable, whose efforts supported the WICT Rocky Mountain Chapter.
• WICT Most Improved Chapter for Chapter growth and development from the previous year, presented to WICT Greater Chicago. An Honorable Mention in this category was awarded to WICT Greater Ohio, which demonstrated tremendous growth in membership and programming in 2011.
• WICT Best Chapter Programming of the Year presented to WICT Southeast for first place, and New England for second place. Greater Philadelphia and Northern California tied for third place.
• WICT Chapter Mentoring Excellence for Chapter achievements in substance and implementation of an impactful WICT mentoring program, presented to WICT Southeast for first place, and Rocky Mountain for second place. New England and New York tied for third place.
• WICT Chapter Enterprise Award presented to Chapters who formed new and lasting partnerships within the industry and with local academic institutions, presented to WICT Greater Philadelphia for first place, Southeast for second place and Greater Chicago for third place.
• Inspire and Others Will Follow Award honoring Chapters who helped their members achieve their full potential by embracing the WICT vision and achieved 90 or more points on the 2011 WICT Model Chapter Business Plan. This award was presented to WICT Carolinas, Greater Chicago, Greater Ohio, Greater Philadelphia, Greater Texas, Midwest, New England, New York, Northern California, Rocky Mountain, Southeast, Virginia, and Washington DC/Baltimore.

WICT also announced its 2012 Chapter Presidents and Chapter Advisors.
