New Directors-at-Large include Joan Gillman (Time Warner Cable), Rebecca Glashow (Discovery Communications), Michelle Rice (TV One), and Dana Zimmer (NBCUniversal)
Chantilly, VA - Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) today announced the members of the 2012 WICT Board of Directors. Kathy Payne, Vice President, Content Acquisition, Cox Communications, will continue as chair, entering the final year of her two-year term. Mary Meduski, EVP & CFO, Suddenlink Communications, was elected to fill the vice chair role.
WICT also announced that incumbent board member Gail MacKinnon, EVP & Chief Government Relations Officer at Time Warner Cable, was moved up to the Board's Executive Committee and will serve as chair of the Development Committee, while four additional individuals will join the board for the first time in 2012 as directors-at-large. They are: Joan Gillman, EVP of Time Warner Cable and President of Time Warner Cable Media; Rebecca Glashow, SVP of Digital Media Distribution at Discovery Communications; Michelle Rice, EVP of Affiliate Sales & Marketing at TV One; and Dana Zimmer, EVP of TV Networks Distribution, NBCUniversal. The WICT Board of Directors is comprised of individuals from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences and represents various facets of the industry. A full listing of the board appears below.

Kathy Payne joined Cox Communications in 1993 and is presently responsible for video content negotiations for cable networks and other video content distributed across multiple platforms to millions of Cox customers. She is a graduate of Class X of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, WICT's premier executive leadership program for women executives, and has been a member of the WICT Board of Directors since 2007 and has been actively involved with the WICT Southeast chapter for many years. Multichannel News and the WICT New York Chapter honored Payne as one of the 2009 Wonder Women, and she has been included on CableFAX's "Most Powerful Women in Cable" list four times since 2007.
Mary Meduski joined Suddenlink Communications in 2006 as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, she helps set Suddenlink's strategic direction, raises capital to support the company's growth objectives, and oversees its accounting, tax, treasury, financial reporting, risk management, programming and information technology functions. Ms. Meduski served as treasurer on the WICT Board of Directors in 2009 and 2010, and she is active in the WICT Midwest and New York Chapters. She has been named to CableFAX's list of "Most Powerful Women in Cable" in each of the last six years, and was recently named a Multichannel News Wonder Woman, Class of 2012.
Gail MacKinnon was named Executive Vice President and Chief Government Relations Officer for Time Warner Cable in 2008. Ms. MacKinnon oversees the company's Washington, D.C. public policy office and is responsible for the company's legislative and regulatory strategies. Previously, Ms. MacKinnon served as Senior Vice President of Global Policy for Time Warner Inc. where she helped oversee all of Time Warner's government, political and public policy activities in Washington D.C., working closely with the company's business units as well as assisting in managing various trade association relationships.
Joan Gillman is Executive Vice President of Time Warner Cable and President for Time Warner Cable Media. In this role, Ms. Gillman heads up the ad sales force and leads the effort to deliver advanced advertising, data and interactive solutions for advertisers and network partners. She joined Time Warner Cable in May 2005 as Vice President of Interactive TV and Advanced Advertising. She is an alumna of Class XV of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.
Rebecca Glashow is Senior Vice President, Digital Media Distribution, for Discovery Communications. In this role, Ms. Glashow oversees the strategy, development and execution of Discovery's digital media distribution business. She leads the company's digital video strategy and negotiations across all platforms (including TV Everywhere, Video on Demand, Electronic Sell Through and Mobile) and plays an essential role in expanding the digital video business worldwide.
Michelle Rice is Executive Vice President, Affiliate Sales & Marketing, for TV One. Ms. Rice develops distribution strategy and helps manage negotiations to increase and maximize TV One's corporate distribution opportunities, manages corporate affiliate relationships and oversees field sales for the entertainment and lifestyle network targeting African American adults. She joined TV One in January 2004 as vice president of distribution strategy and operations and was named a senior vice president in March 2005. Ms. Rice is a graduate of Class VIII of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.
Dana Zimmer is the Executive Vice President of TV Networks Distribution for NBCUniversal, where she oversees the national sales team in the distribution of NBCUniversal's television content to the cable, satellite and telco industries. Zimmer oversees key distribution deals for NBCU's multi-billion dollar content portfolio of cable networks, including USA, CNBC, Syfy, MSNBC, E!, Bravo, Golf Channel, Style Network, NBC Sports Network, as well as the Olympics on cable. Additionally, Zimmer plays a key role in the distribution efforts of Comcast Sports Networks' in the Bay Area, California, Chicago, Mid-Atlantic, New England, Northwest, Philadelphia, Southeast, Southwest, The Mtn. - Mountain West Sports Network, SportsNet New York and The Comcast Network.
