The deadline for 2010 RLP was Friday, January 29 at 12:00pm EST. All applicants will be notified of their status by WICT with the review committee's selection by the end of March 2010.

WICT’s Rising Leaders Program (RLP) seeks industry professionals who are ready to challenge their skills and take the next step towards designing their individual leadership blueprint.  During an intensive week-long immersion program, participants will take part in leadership analysis, case study work, cable business acumen and tactical personal leadership skill development. This program is limited to two classes of 30 women. Participants accepted into RLP have demonstrated their potential, as well as their desire, for leadership and career advancement.  They must be approved and supported by their companies to participate in RLP as this is a competitive application based program.

The 2010 Program
WICT is excited to announce that due to the continued and overwhelming interest in this program and the number of qualified applicants we have received in the past years that there will be two Rising Leaders classes in 2010, which will run concurrently from May 24-28, 2010.

The new program format  also allows for an even more in-depth leadership course curriculum. Led by Erika Andersen, Founder of Proteus-International and supported by Proteus' senior staff members, Cindy Swensen and Jennifer Sherman, the 2010 RLP will explore:

• Social Styles – understanding what they are, identifying your own and learning how to adapt to and work with those with different styles
• Six Elements of Leadership Model- what the six elements are, assessing your elements and how to develop a practical approach to improve your leadership qualities
• How Cable Happens – learning how the various industry segments relate to and  interact with each other
• Growing Great Employees - where to begin, what to do and how to keep them growing
• High Performance Teams – including setting goals, effective processes, building trust and measuring success
• Strategic Planning – how to be and think strategic

To further enhance the program, WICT is happy to introduce a new featured speaker:

• Grace Killelea - Senior Vice President of Talent, Comcast
  One of the things very successful people have going for them is they have built a reputation and, for this presentation, Grace refers to that reputation as their “brand.” She will discuss how successful leaders build a platform of reputation, relationships, results and resilience that she believes allows them to survive the ever-changing tides of corporate waters.
• Kathleen Dore - Senior Advisor, Proteus-International, Inc.
  Women enter management at the same rate as men - 50% of managers are female.  Why then can women claim only 3% of Fortune 500 CEO positions?  What happens in that journey through corporations that leaves women at a disadvantage as they seek higher level positions?  In “Politics, Power and Influence,” Kathleen will discuss what you need to know to navigate corporate waters successfully, and provide practical tools for powering your own career, and ensuring success as you move up the ladder.
