Denise Gough is the vice president of business and legal affairs for Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc. She provides key legal counsel to the marketing teams of Scripps Networks' brands including HGTV, Food Network and Travel Channel. She also counsels ad sales and marketing, content distribution and marketing, and other business units at SNI. Gough advises Scripps Networks' in-house production unit, Scripps Productions, manages legal aspects for Scripps Networks' home giveaways, including HGTV Dream Home and DIY Network Blog Cabin, and advises on consumer regulatory issues and social media.
Prior to joining Scripps Networks in 2005, Gough served as senior counsel at America Online focusing on entertainment, marketing, advertising and compliance issues in its interactive space.
Gough is actively involved with Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and served as the Vice President, President, and now Immediate Past President of the Southeast Chapter. In 2014 she was co-winner of the prestigious Red Letter Award in the category of mentoring. She is also in Class 34 of the prestigious WICT leadership program, the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute. She is also active with the Knoxville Bar Association and United Way of Greater Knoxville
Gough graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with a bachelor's degree in English and History, and received her juris doctorate from Duke University, graduating magna cum laude.
