As Director of Investor Relations at Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI), Sarah Burnett is responsible for communicating the SNI story to the financial community. As part of that effort, she works on the quarterly earnings process, including the earnings call and press release, and interacts directly with the investors and analysts who follow the company. In addition, Burnett counsels the leadership team with regard to the company's messaging for industry conferences, presentations, media relations and other investor-facing communications.
Prior to joining Scripps Networks Interactive, Burnett worked at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in Orlando, Fla. During her time at SeaWorld she held financial positions in the investor relations and financial planning departments. She was integral in developing and implementing SeaWorld's investor outreach program, including guiding the company through its initial public offering in 2013. Prior to SeaWorld, Burnett held financial positions at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts and the Orlando Economic Development Commission.
Burnett studied international business and Spanish at Rollins College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She also holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Master of Arts, International Business, both from the University of Florida.
Burnett is an active member of the community. She is a mentor and volunteer with Humans and Animals Learning Together, an organization providing therapeutic intervention for at-risk adolescents through dog obedience training. She is also active with the National Investor Relations Institute, the professional association for investor relations practitioners. A native of Orlando, she currently resides in Knoxville with her beagle-basset hound. Her favorite Scripps Networks shows are Holmes Makes it Right and House Hunters.
