Karen Bennett is the EVP and Chief HR Officer for Cox Communications. She is a business executive with more than 25 years of Human Resources success at Fortune 500 companies as an architect of human capital strategy and execution.
In this role, she provides leadership in developing and executing people strategies that support the company's overall business plan and strategic direction. Karen and her team also focus on talent management, program administration, employee relations, employee services, and best practices in people related policies and procedures.
Before joining Cox Communications, Karen was SVP and Chief HR Officer for Cox Media Group, a sister company to Cox Communications, where she oversaw HR and internal communications. Prior to joining Cox, Karen served as Sr. VP and Chief HR Officer for YP (formerly AT&T Interactive and AT&T Ad Solutions). Additionally, Karen was SVP of Human Resources for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., where she held various roles during her almost 14 years there.
Karen earned both an Executive M.B.A. and a B.B.A. degree from the Terry College of Business of the University of Georgia. She is certified as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She holds her Executive Coaching certification through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching's (IPEC) ICF-credentialed program. She serves on the Board for the Emma Bowen Foundation, and a former Director on the Board for the Cable and Telecommunications Human Resources Association (CTHRA). She also is a former Board member and Director of Mentoring for the Atlanta Chapter of the Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), as well as 2007 alum of the WICT Betsy Magness Leadership Institute. Bennett is a former participant in the CTAM Cable Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School.
