Radio One, Inc. (radio-one.com) is the largest multi-media company that primarily targets African-American and urban listeners, viewers, readers and Internet users. In his role as Chief Executive Officer and President of Radio One (the "Company"), Mr. Liggins has led the Company’s transformation into a diversified multi-media platform that owns the following assets: 52 radio stations located in 16 urban markets in the United States, Interactive One (urbandaily.com, newsone.com, elev8.com and hellobeautiful.com), Community Connect (blackplanet.com) and interests in TV One, LLC (tvoneonline.com), a cable/satellite network and Reach Media, Inc. (blackamericaweb.com), owner of the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Mr. Liggins is responsible for the overall management and operating performance of Radio One’s assets, pursuing new business ventures, identifying acquisitions, managing an integrated business plan and attracting key talent.
Launched in January 2004, TV One (www.tvone.tv) serves 57 million households, offering a broad range of real-life and entertainment-focused original programming, classic series, movies and music designed to entertain, inform and inspire a diverse audience of adult Black viewers. The network is the exclusive home of News One Now, the only live daily news program targeting Black viewers. In December 2008, the company launched TV One High Def, which now serves 14 million households. TV One is solely owned by Radio One [NASDAQ: ROIA and ROIAK, www.radio-one.com], the largest radio company that primarily targets Black and urban listeners. As Chairman of TV One, his responsibility is to lead the overall continued expansion of the network, both in terms of subscribers and advertising revenues.
Mr. Liggins attended the University of California in Los Angeles and the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C. He received his MBA in May 1995 from the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Liggins serves on the Board of Directors for Radio One, Inc., TV One, LLC, Reach Media, Inc., Ibiquity Digital Corporation, The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, The Apollo Theater and The National Cable and Telecommunications Association ("NCTA").
