Allison Glock

Presently the executive producer for W. Studios, (a content driver within ESPN Films centered on women-led storytelling), Allison Glock is also the EP of ESPN’s Fifty/50 initiative, as well as an EP on “37 Words,” and the Fifty/50 Shorts series, one of which she is directing. Her other espnW videos include award-winning pieces on Aja Wilson, Dawn Staley, Kayla Harrison, Nikky Finney among others.

A journalist for 20-plus years, Glock’s writing has appeared in: The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Esquire, Rolling Stone, Food & Wine, Men’s Journal, Marie ClaireGQ and many other publications. Her poetry has appeared in The New Yorker, South Writ Large, and the Portland Review. She is the author of multiple books, including Whiting Award winner Beauty Before Comfort, a memoir of West Virginia and a New York Times notable book of the year.

In 2018, Glock co-wrote and produced the groundbreaking sports documentary Man Made, which toured more than 100 festivals internationally and won 14 Best Of awards. http://www.manmadedoc.com/trailer  In 2020, Glock directed a BTS video for Atlantic Record’s I Am Samantha, as well as a short about southern women for Harper Collins. Additionally, Glock has written for television (including BBC’s Copper & Netflix’s The Get Down). She is currently a writer and executive producer on NBC’s The Blacklist.
