Amy Hammontree

​Amy Hammontree was named the public relations director of HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country in 2013, where she manages media relations for these Scripps Networks Interactive Home Category lifestyle media brands.

 

Previously, Hammontree served as the public relations manager of HGTV and DIY Network for Scripps Networks’ Home Category. In this role, she managed the press efforts for series promotions, marketing activations and Home Category websites, including HGTV.com and DIYNetwork.com. Hammontree arrived to HGTV in 2000 as a public relations and marketing assistant where her innovative contributions made her an integral part of the communications team. Since then, Hammontree has been a key contributor to many network accomplishments, including HGTV’s record-breaking ratings growth in 2013 and 2014.

 

Prior to joining HGTV, Hammontree was a production assistant at WBIR, the NBC affiliate in Knoxville. She began her television career in Atlanta as an on-air host for the Gem Shopping Network. 

 

Hammontree holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and a master’s degree in communications and public relations from the University of Tennessee. She has been a member of WICT for more than 10 years
