Bonnie Cleaver

Bonnie Cleaver is currently the Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives for the Comcast Media Center (CMC). Her role involves strategic planning and collaborating with Comcast’s senior leadership team on the development of advanced digital video products that are operated from the CMC for use in markets across the country. Currently, Bonnie leads the iTV product strategy, and iTV development and deployment activities for the Comcast Media Center. These initiatives include interactive video applications using Enhanced Television (eTV) technology that has been launched in several strategic Comcast markets; the Video Rich Navigation (VRN) based Comcast Central Olympics mosaic channel; VRN Network and Advertiser microsites on VOD; and the build of IVIS – the iTV control room at the CMC that will support the launch and operation of advanced interactive video applications using the VRN, eTV, and tru2way™ platforms. Previously, Bonnie led the teams responsible for designing and implementing Comcast Central, a VRN service that supports on-screen video searches for both linear and on-demand television using video mosaics and interactive program guide technology. She also managed the development of CMC-based wireless video services for Comcast, and was integral in the creation and launch of a national VOD (video on demand) management and delivery service to support Comcast’s aggressive VOD deployment strategy. An industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience in new product development, strategic planning, product marketing, and operational management, Bonnie previously served as Senior Director, New Product Development for Comcast’s Corporate Marketing Department in Philadelphia, where she led the teams responsible for pioneering a number of the MSO’s strategic business initiatives, including DVR, HDTV service, and VOD. She joined Comcast in 1999 as National Director of Digital Product Development. Prior to her positions with Comcast, Bonnie spent five years at Jones Intercable, where as Director of New Business Development she managed some of the industry’s earliest launches of high-speed internet and local and long distance telephone services. Before joining the Jones corporate management team in 1992, she spent several years in financial planning and operational auditing at Southern New England Telephone (SNET) Company. She is an active member of WICT (Women in Cable Telecommunications) and its Rocky Mountain chapter, which honored her as its Woman in Technology in 2006, and CTAM (Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing), where she has received the CTAM Mark Award for Marketing Excellence in 2004, and been a featured presenter. Bonnie earned an MBA from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business and a BA in Mathematics from Clark University, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Born and raised in Connecticut, Bonnie currently resides in Denver, Colorado. She enjoys yoga, hiking, traveling and reading in her spare time.
