Caroline Weber

Caroline Weber (Harvard A.B., Yale Ph.D.) is a Professor of French at Barnard College, Columbia Univeristy, where she specializes in eighteenth-century French literature, culture, and history. Her book titles are: Fragments of Revolution, Terror and its Discontents: Suspect Words in Revolutionary France, and, most recently, Queen of Fashion: What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution, which both the New York Times and the Washington Post named one of the best books of 2006.

Also a respected journalist, Dr. Weber has published essays on fashion, politics, culture, and the arts to a range of publications, including Town & Country, New York magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, Washington Post Book World, Bookforum, Martha Stewart Living, and Vogue. She is a regular contributor to The New York Times Book Review and T: The New York Times Style Magazine.
