Christine Chong

Christine Chong is Director of Finance and Business Operations for Comcast Business Services.  Business Services targets small to mid-sized businesses and is one of the fastest growing business units within Comcast posting over 40% growth year over year since its launch in 2006. In addition to internet, voice and video, its product offering has recently been expanded to include advanced voice, ethernet data and cell backhaul services for mid-market businesses.  Its commitment to customers is to be Fast, Agile and Responsive.

In her current role, Christine partners with Business Services’ leaders to execute strategic initiatives.  She and her team have been instrumental in the development and implementation of standardized sales reporting and analysis, financial modeling and business analytics to support the growth and direction of the business. 

Christine’s more recent accomplishments have been focused on strategic business planning, budget management and complex financial modeling of new mid-market product launches. Working cross-functionally, she led efforts to create budget models for advanced voice, ethernet data and cell backhaul lines of business. Her budget models provided guidance to the field by identifying market size, optimal sales staffing, sales productivity, revenue and expense projections for the annual budget process.
 
Christine joined Comcast in 2006 when Business Services was a $265M revenue business unit and has participated in its growth to $1.8B in 2011.  In 2008, Christine was nominated and selected to participate in Comcast’s FOL program (Fundamentals of Leadership program) for high performing employees.

Christine brings over 15 years of Big 4 audit and private sector experience. Prior to joining Comcast, Christine developed her reporting and analysis expertise across several industries at top tier organizations including AT&T Wireless, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Merrill Lynch.

At AT&T Wireless, Christine managed the sales reporting and commission teams.  She developed audit processes that contribute directly to the bottom line, including one that resulted in a cost savings of $400K+.

Prior to joining AT&T Wireless, Christine was with the public accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers where she performed financial statement audits and provided consulting services to the financial services industry.

Christine began her career at Merrill Lynch where she prepared annual and quarterly financial statements and updated analysis schedules utilized in the Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) reports.  

Christine received her MBA in Finance from Villanova University and a BS in Accounting and Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. After NYU, Christine went overseas to pursue a Master’s in Political Science from Yonsei University’s Graduate School of International Studies in Seoul, Korea where her thesis was on the benefits of economic trade unions.  She holds various certifications including a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CFM (Certified in Financial Management) and CIA (Certified Internal Auditor).
 
Christine strongly believes in formal and informal mentoring programs designed to helping others achieve their professional goals because she has personally benefitted from having outstanding mentors. She participated in the WICT mentoring partnership program and is currently a mentor in Comcast’s Linked to Leadership program.

Christine resides in the Philadelphia suburbs with her husband, three young children and border collie.
