Cory Greenberg

Cory Greenberg is Director, Business & Legal Affairs at Scripps Networks Interactive, where she works with creative people to help bring their visions to reality.  Specifically, Cory negotiates, structures and provides legal counseling and support for agreements and issues relating to SNI Network Talent (Food Network, Cooking Channel, HGTV, DIY and Travel Channel); content acquisitions; and to the Food Network/Cooking Channel Marketing and New Business departments on a variety of matters, including book projects. 

 

Prior to joining Scripps, Cory spent over 7 years as Director of Operations & Special Projects and in-house counsel for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.  At Ailey, Cory provided legal counseling and support to all areas of the organization, including Ailey’s two touring companies, Marketing, Public Relations, Development, and The Ailey School.  Cory’s non-legal responsibilities included oversight of the IT department, Ailey’s merchandising program, and the Ailey archives.  Cory’s favorite "Special Project" was the development of the Alvin Ailey® American Dance Theater Barbie® Doll.  Before Ailey, Cory practiced law for ten years in a variety of settings, including adjudicating false advertising disputes for the National Advertising Division and as an associate at the law firms of Proskauer and Davis & Gilbert.

 

Cory serves as the General Counsel for DanceNYC, is on the advisory boards of startup companies TenduTV and Class Pass, is a member of the Board of Directors of the New York Neo-Futurists theater company and serves on the Entertainment Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association.  Cory is a proud member of WICT and was selected to be part of WICT-NY’s Prime Access Executive Mentoring Program (2013-2014).

 

Cory received her undergraduate degree cum laude in Art History from Duke University and her law degree from New York University, where she was a Hays Fellow and a recipient of the Vanderbilt Medal for Public Service.
