D’Arcy Rudnay

D’Arcy F. Rudnay serves as Chief Communications Officer for Comcast Corporation, one of the world’s leading media, entertainment and communications companies.  In this role, she leads the management of this Fortune 50 Company’s brand, image, reputation and strategic communications across the entire Comcast family of companies.  She is also the communications counsel to the Chairman and CEO and other members of the executive team.  Additionally, Ms. Rudnay works closely with the senior management at Comcast and NBCUniversal along with the Company’s financial and investor relations teams to communicate with the media, investors, customers, the general public, and over 125,000 employees. 

She leads strategic communications for the Company’s mergers and acquisitions which included managing the cross functional communications team surrounding Comcast’s acquisition of NBCUniversal — one of the largest transactions announced in 2009 – through its close in 2011.  She also oversees and develops all communications strategies around the Company’s business deals and financial reporting, federal and regulatory activities, product launches, employee relations and social and digital media.

Since her arrival at Comcast in 2003 as Vice President of Corporate Communications, Ms. Rudnay has led all strategic corporate brand positioning and messaging as the Company has grown from 42,000 employees and 8.5 million customers to more than 125,000 employees and 22.3 million customers.  She also led the repositioning of the Company following Comcast’s acquisitions of AT&T Broadband (2003) and Adelphia (2005).  She was named Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications in 2007. 

Prior to joining Comcast, Ms. Rudnay spent ten years in the financial services industry, most recently at Lincoln Financial Group as Vice President of Corporate Communications and Media Relations and Vice President of the Lincoln Financial Group Foundation, and before that at Advanta Corporation where she was Vice President of Communications and Corporate Identity.  While at Lincoln Financial Group she restructured the communications activities of the century old corporation changing the reactive and internal focus of a significantly decentralized group of businesses to one that was externally-driven, and also served as an advisor to the Chairman’s office and several business units.  At Advanta Corporation, Ms. Rudnay was responsible for all communications functions, including supporting the Investor Relations department.  Prior to Advanta Corporation, she was Communications Manager for The Pew Charitable Trusts and worked for strategic communications firms in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Rudnay earned a BA from Trinity College and an MS from the University of Pennsylvania. She was inducted into the Public Relations Hall of Fame in 2010 as one of the Nation’s top 25 communications executives and was named among the “Most Powerful Women in Cable” by CableFax magazine in 2011, 2010 and 2007. In 2005 she was a recipient of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s “Women of Distinction” award and Profiles in Diversity Journal’s “Women Worth Watching” award. Ms. Rudnay resides in Radnor, Pennsylvania, with her husband and has two grown daughters.
