Denise Gough

Denise
Gough is a wine lover, dog mom, and entrepreneur.  She was most recently
employed as Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs at Discovery, Inc.,
formerly Scripps Networks Interactive, Inc.  In that role, she provided
legal and business counsel to the marketing teams of Scripps’ brands, including
HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel.  She counseled ad sales and
marketing, content distribution and marketing, and other business units.
She also advised Scripps’ in-house production unit, managed all legal
aspects for Scripps’ home giveaways, including HGTV Dream Home and DIY Network
Ultimate Retreat, and advised on consumer regulatory issues and social media.

Prior
to joining Scripps, Gough served as Senior Counsel at America Online, Inc.
focusing on entertainment, marketing, advertising, and compliance issues.

Gough
is actively involved with Women in Cable Telecommunications, and has served as
a Director-at-Large, Vice President, President, and Immediate Past President of
the Southeast Chapter.  She won Chapter President of the Year in 2016 and
was a co-winner of WICT Southeast’s prestigious Red Letter Award in the
category of mentoring in 2014.  Gough is a graduate of Class 34 of the
Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.  She is also active with the United
Way of Greater Knoxville.

Gough
graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with a bachelor’s degree in
English and History, and received her juris doctorate form Duke University
School of Law, magna cum laude, where she sits on the Board of Visitors.
She is the proud mom of 2 chihuahua mixes and enjoys reading and
educating others on loving wine.
