Elaine Barden

Elaine Barden brings more than 18 years of marketing, sales and general management experience in the cable television industry to her role as Comcast’s Vice President of Marketing for the SF Bay Area Region. Voted as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential Women in Cable” by Cable World magazine, she has consistently received the accolades of her peers and industry throughout her career and has produced outstanding results with her team.

Barden also serves as Executive Director of the Cinlexico Charitable Foundation, an organization that donates funds raised from successful IPO ventures to non profit charities that support education for underprivileged youth. 

She previously served as the General Manager for United Artists/ TCI in Alameda, California from 1992-1994, where she managed a 16,000 subscriber cable system.  She became Regional Operations Manager for TCI in 1995, Regional Sales and Marketing Director in 1996, and Director of Marketing for the San Francisco/Bay Area in 1999, before moving to her present position for Comcast in 2003.

Presently, Barden leads a 12-member product marketing and analytics group and a field marketing organization that contributed to the successful turnaround of the SF Bay Area market.   That turnaround included significantly increasing digital and high-speed internet subscribers, launching Comcast Digital Voice phone service and growing video-on-demand usage to nearly 12 million orders per month.  She currently is responsible for a $1.7 billion revenue base and more than 1.6 million subscribers.

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Rhetoric, Barden is an Executive member of Women in Cable and Telecommunications and served as Vice President of WICT’s National Board of Directors.
