Elaine Powell is a Senior Manager of Human Resources with Comcast Business. She is responsible for the effective management of HR in the areas of talent management, employee engagement, recognition, performance management, organizational design and change initiatives, with a particular passion for coaching and leadership development. Elaine partners with senior leaders and their teams to improve organizational capability by delivering HR solutions with a commonsense approach, leveraging synergies in people and resources aligned to strategy.
Prior to joining Comcast, Elaine built significant HR experience in the regulated waste disposal, energy and healthcare industries. Most recently, she worked as the Manager of Human Resources with Stericycle. In this role, she was responsible for providing leadership and oversight of HR for the Corporate and US Sales divisions. Elaine also spent 12 years with Exelon Corporation in various Senior Human Resources Generalist roles of increasing scope and complexity, supporting a broad range of HR programs and strategies. She started her career with Mount Sinai Health Systems where she discovered her passion for HR by building strong business partner relationships.
Elaine is dedicated to supporting community projects. At Comcast she served in a leadership role for Comcast Cares in 2016 with the G.W. Boys & Girls Club of Joliet, as featured in "The-Herald-News article- Comcast Cleans the Club". She also hosted a blood drive and volunteered with Feed My Starving Children. Outside of work, Elaine assists community members with job readiness training and volunteers for various humanitarian causes. Elaine also serves on the Board of Directors of Fezziwig WWJD Foundation, to provide financial assistance for charitable organizations and individuals that face financial crisis.
Elaine earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Communication from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Masters of Human Resources Management degree from Keller University. Elaine resides in the Chicagoland area where she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and cycling.
