Jamelia Smith

​Jamelia Smith currently serves as Sr. Manager of Diversity and Inclusion at Cox Communications.  In this capacity, she ensures that Cox leverages the diverse perspectives of our people to enable an inclusive environment that drives innovation and fuels growth.  Jamelia provides consultative support to CCIs National and Regional Diversity & Inclusion Councils, internal and external business partners, and designs and executes strategic programs designed to advance our diversity and inclusion goals and objectives.   Prior to this role, Jamelia was Sr. Manager of Customer Experience, driving the creation of operational and marketing initiatives designed to improve the Customer Experience and create a customer centric culture for Cox Communications.  Prior to Cox, Jamelia held various roles of increasing responsibility in the Content Distribution division of Turner Broadcasting.  

Jamelia is a dynamic relationship builder who is passionate about creating and nurturing profitable and productive relationships.  When not spending time with her husband and two young children, she is an active in her community and serves as a member of the Junior League of Atlanta.  Jamelia is also a member of the National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications and currently serves on the board of Directors for Kate’s Club, an organization that helps children and families unite with peers who understand grief. 

Jamelia earned an A.B.J. in Public Relations from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.
