Jane Praeger

Jane Praeger is the founder and president of
Ovid, Inc. (www.ovidinc.com), a 20-year old strategic communications firm that
specializes in speech and presentation coaching, and media training.  Ovid’s corporate clients have included
Nickelodeon, Cartier, Viacom, AT&T, Coach, Estee Lauder, and other
technology, entertainment, and professional services firms.


On the nonprofit side, Ovid has worked with
Harvard University, Columbia University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center, The World Health Organization, The American Public Health Association,
NYU Medical School, Doctors Without Borders, Atlantic Philanthropies, Open
Society Foundations, Brennan Center for Justice at NYU, the American Jewish
World Service and the Ms. Foundation.  Individual
clients include TED talkers, National Book Award winners, rising film stars,
and college commencement speakers.

Praeger is on the faculty of Columbia
University where she has been teaching in the Masters Degree programs in
Strategic Communications since 2002.


A former writer, producer, and director of
documentary films, Praeger has created award-winning programs for PBS, WNET,
and the U.S. Department of Justice. Before starting Ovid, Praeger conceived and
executed national media campaigns for Pro-Media Public Relations, a social
issues public relations firm in New York City, wrote William S. Rukeyser’s
nationally-syndicated radio program “Inside Business”, and was the Director of
Communications for the Victim Services Agency (now Safe Horizons) in NYC.
