Janice Arouh

Janice Arouh serves as Executive Vice President, Network Distribution & Service for Crown Media Holdings, Inc., owner and operator of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, where she is responsible for network distribution and affiliate partnerships.  She has been in this role since May, 2008.  

Arouh oversees affiliate relations, distribution strategy and sales operations for America’s favorite family-friendly networks which include Hallmark Channel — consistently ranked a Top Ten network for the last 25 months — Hallmark Movie Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel HD. Among her many accomplishments, Arouh and her department have significantly grown Hallmark Channel distribution to 86 million subscribers in the past four years and recently secured renewals with Hallmark Channel’s major distributors.  She also supervised the successful launch of Hallmark Movie Channel HD which is in nearly 10 million homes since launch in April, 2008.

Arouh has been with Crown Media Los Angeles office since January 2004 and reports to Henry Schleiff, President and Chief Executive Officer. Since assuming her current role, Arouh has been the recipient of the 2005 WICT Southern California Lifetime Achievement Award. In recognition of her contributions to Hallmark Channel and the industry, she was inducted into the 2008 Class of Wonder Women by Multichannel News.

Before joining Hallmark Channel, Arouh was Senior Vice President of Affiliate Marketing at Fox Cable Networks.  Arouh and her team at Fox Cable Networks won eight awards for excellence in network affiliate marketing including CTAM Mark Awards, Promax and BDA Awards in 2003.  Her jump start was at FX Networks where she was part of the original launch team for News Corp.’s entry into basic cable, seeking distribution for FX (the most successful basic cable launch in history) and Fox Movie Channel (the first studio-based movie network).

Before assuming her role at FX Networks, she began her cable career at Showtime Networks.

Arouh is active in organizations both within and outside the cable television industry. She was recently the Treasurer for the WICT Board of Directors, and formerly served as a Board Member of Southern California CablePositive.   She also served as a Board Member of the Southern California Cable and Telecommunications Association.    Also, she is a friend and volunteer of the California Wildlife Center in Malibu, supporting their efforts to provide sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife quality medical care and rehabilitation.

Arouh earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from John Carroll University.  She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Albert, and their two children.
