Jennifer Blaxland

Jenny Blaxland has helped lay the foundation and shape the structure of the TV commercial traffic department of the Eastern Division of Comcast Spotlight, the cable advertising arm of Comcast. Her skills in guiding workflow, developing account management teams, helping to transition multiple traffic departments into one and successfully managing relationships through consolidations and conversions are keys to Jenny’s continual career growth.

Most recently, Jenny was promoted to Senior Interconnect Traffic Manager. In this position, Jenny is responsible for managing a team that traffics the National and Regional Interconnect video commercial business, which accounts for $48 million in yearly revenue. Her team excels in campaign delivery, with an average run rate of 99.4%, exceeding the average monthly run rate goal.

Since Jenny’s arrival to Comcast Spotlight in 2001, she has earned three promotions. With her knack for quickly adapting to the changing business environment and finding practical solutions, she has helped streamline and improve operational efficiencies by creating and implementing new policies and procedures.

Vice President of Customer Care at Comcast Spotlight, Jay Schiavello notes that Jenny’s leadership style is a pleasure to watch. “She establishes stretch goals for her team, then quietly influences and persuades stakeholders to assist her team toward the accomplishment of their objectives.”

With the quick growth of Comcast Spotlight Division operational headquarters, Jenny had the fortune of hiring and developing staff on a continual basis.  She believes the key to running a successful business is building a strong, multi-talented team.  Her strong collaborative and leadership skills have provided her the means to work well with her staff and partner with all levels of business and produce successful results.

Prior to Comcast Spotlight, Jenny was a Sr. Account Manager at Disc Makers, an independent CD-ROM and DVD manufacturing company. She supervised manufacturing, printing, design and packaging of client projects.  At the height this experience, she helped lead the CD-ROM team to 260% growth over a three-year period and grew the department from 2 to 10 employees.

Jenny also worked at Radius Communications and Metrobase Cable Advertising, both positions related to production.

Through her participation in Comcast programs like “Women in Leadership” and “Coach to Coach,” Jenny has been able to expand her skills in this area. She has been acknowledged for her exemplary leadership and service with Extraordinary Leadership, Distinction and Employee of the Month awards.

Outside of work, Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She is dedicated to giving back to the community each year during Comcast Cares Day – a one day, organized effort where she has helped clean up and landscape dilapidated community facilities.

A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Film & Television Production, Jenny lives with her husband and 5-year old son in the Philadelphia suburbs.
