Jill King

​Jill King is senior vice president, sponsorship group for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media (AYAKM). In this capacity, King oversees all aspects of strategic marketing partnerships, event marketing and trade marketing for Adult Swim, Cartoon Network and Boomerang, and their digital businesses.  She leads development of innovations that leverage emerging technologies to engage audiences in new ways and offer advertisers first-to-market platforms in today’s dynamic digital environment. She is also instrumental in developing the flagship Adult Swim Upfront trade marketing strategies.

Now based in Atlanta, King returned to AYAKM in 2013 following two years as independent consultant to the division while residing overseas. In her previous role with the company, King served as AYAKM’s senior vice president of strategic marketing and partnerships, where she was responsible for overseeing the creation of promotional marketing programs, and pioneered new approaches that leveraged convergence in media and engaged with consumers through immersive events. King’s accomplishments pushed the boundaries of sales promotions and include developing professional sports league partnerships, driving new lines of revenue via short-form content packages for partners, and fully reimagining Adult Swim’s Upfront format.


King joined Turner Broadcasting as new media consultant to Cartoon Network in 2000, and was quickly appointed senior manager of promotions marketing and sponsorships for Cartoon Network New Media. Within two years she was named director of the division, charged with creating multi-platform promotional packages for advertisers that complemented their marketing objectives. In 2004, King was promoted to vice president, and assumed oversight of annual promotions and sponsorships across linear and digital businesses for Adult Swim and Cartoon Network.

Previously, King worked at The Coca-Cola Company responsible for identifying, analyzing and reporting marketplace and workforce trends to support information technology and marketing initiatives.  Prior to that, she worked as an account executive at System One Technical.

King earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. Profiled by Working Mother in 2010, King is an appointed 2014 participant in the prestigious Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) Betsy Magness Leadership Institute. She also serves as a mentor within Turner Broadcasting’s Turner Women Today and AYAKM Circle Mentoring programs.
