Jodi Markley

Jodi Markley is Senior Vice President of Operations at ESPN.  In this capacity, she is responsible for the studio, event and commercial operations of the ESPN global media platforms.  Her most recent project was to assist with the launch of ESPN’s live channel in the U.K. on August 3rd.

Prior to her current role, Jodi served as Senior Vice President, International Production, ESPN Classic and ESPNEWS.  In this role, she oversaw the production and operations efforts for ESPN International’s Latin America, Atlantic, and Pacific Rim networks and the Spanish-language domestic network ESPN Deportes, as well as oversight of all programming and production for ESPN Classic and ESPNEWS.

Jodi played an integral role in the launch of 35 ESPN International networks, as well as numerous programming initiatives – including 14 different versions of SportsCenter around the globe.  She was also part of the launch of ESPN Deportes in the U.S.  Under Jodi, ESPN International garnered 21 Telly awards, as well as two Broadcast Designer Association World Class Awards.  During her tenure, ESPN Classic was nominated for seven Emmy awards, won an Emmy for SportsCentury, and won eight Telly Awards.  In her current role, Jodi’s group won an Emmy Award in both 2007 and 2008 in the “Technical Team Remote” category for NASCAR.

Prior to joining ESPN, Jodi worked as production manager for film company Motion, Inc., co-producing numerous documentaries.  She had also been a freelance producer with clients such as ESPN, TSN, BSkyB and TESN.

A native of Miami, Jodi graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, and the Simmons School of Graduate Studies.  She is a member of WICT (Women in Cable Telecommunications) and AWSM (Association for Women in Sports Media).  Jodi also sits on the board of ESPN Classic Sport in Europe.
