Julie Harrison

Julie Harrison is vice president of human resources and safety for 2,200 technical, technical support and call center employees at 17 Comcast locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas and Missouri. She also leads a team of 24 HR professionals and 20 Comcast University leadership and training staff located throughout the region.
 
Julie’s background includes more than 20 years of human resources experience, and she partners with all departments to promote a supportive and harmonious workplace. Julie oversaw the transition of integrating more than 200 employees located in Missouri and Kansas into the region, including recruiting a new senior team. She also increased the region’s safety focus and implemented an accident review board to evaluate incidents. To deepen leadership bench strength, Julie launched two new training courses, Facilitative Leadership and Managing Inclusion. She initiated a partnership with WomenVenture, a local organization serving women in transition, to increase the diversity of employees in technical roles. In 2006, Julie led the HR portion of the successful integration of Minneapolis Time Warner Cable operation, by integrating 600 new employees into the Comcast culture. Julie also helped the region earn the Best Places to Work designation from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
 
Before her current role, she managed all human resources functions for Comcast’s Detroit West Area. Julie previously worked for Kelly Services Corporation providing HR leadership on the General Motors account and worked for Michelin Tire Corporation and the City of Chicago Inspector Generals’ Office.
 
As a Michigan native, Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in human resources development from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. Julie is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and serves on the board of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities. She is an active member of the Twin Cities chapter of NAMIC and WICT. Julie served as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of Captain with a top secret security clearance. Julie was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for support of Operation Desert Storm. Julie was also recognized as the Comcast “Best in Class” HR Professional for 2006 and completed the Comcast Executive Leadership Forum in 2005.
