Julie is an innovative human resources leader with expertise supporting business growth in a variety of fast paced domestic and international environments. As SVP Global Talent and Human Resources Management at Discovery Communications, she has a dual role leading talent acquisition initiatives and delivering HR solutions to the company’s global corporate operations divisions.
As the lead for the Global Talent Management team, she is responsible for designing and delivering Discovery’s talent acquisition strategies across recruitment, flexible staffing and early career programs.
As HR lead for Discovery’s Corporate Operations clients, Julie partners with senior management to shape strategic initiatives for commercial growth, workforce evolution, and ROI. She oversees the team responsible for providing HR support to industry-leading functional clients around the world including Legal, Corporate Development, Business Affairs, Finance, IT, Facilities and Global Technology and Operations.
Before her work at Discovery, Julie led HR and Operations at Wind-Up Entertainment; a New York based record label and music publishing company. She served as HR integration lead for an acquisition of Cendant, driving significant organizational and cultural change initiatives and up skilling their leadership team. She also served as an HR Business Partner for DoubleClick in their New York, Dublin and London offices where she oversaw HR for their Pan-European businesses. Here, she supported significant business growth including opening new offices and driving several major acquisitions and joint venture conversions.
Julie serves on the Board of Directors of Real School Gardens, a nonprofit organization which partners with high-poverty elementary schools to create learning gardens that become an integral part of their teaching culture and community. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and English Literature from Michigan State University.
