Karen Babcock

Director, Business Intelligence Comcast Spotlight

Karen Babcock is Director of Business Intelligence for Comcast Spotlight with a primary focus on the Yield Management discipline, partnering with leaders across the company and bringing an objective and unique view to the table every time. In this role, Karen is focused on leveraging inventory and pricing fundamentals to enable business strategies and maximize opportunities across Comcast Spotlight.

Her professional career started prior to joining Comcast. While attending the Pennsylvania State University, Karen accepted a co-op position at Johnson & Johnson leading to an acceptance into their Financial Leadership Development Program, the 2nd most competitive corporate finance program in the industry – an invaluable experience sharpening soft skills and relationship management. Karen held roles that spanned 3 different finance functions, and upon graduating the program, joined a Global Sales Finance team with exposure outside of the United States. The high energy sales teams were invigorating – being able to think broadly in a big company and go beyond the numbers was an important experience.

A unique opportunity arose in 2011 to further open that door, and Karen made the leap from traditional finance into the media world, joining Comcast Spotlight supporting Strategy and Business Development for Spotlight’s digital advertising arm – a match made in heaven for her high energy personality. Karen rolled out several key initiatives including Comcast’s entry into digital programmatic and the function of yield management, striving to always be the “revenue enabler.” In early 2015, she started in her current role in Comcast Spotlight’s Business Intelligence organization.

Karen received her B.S. in Finance from the Penn State. She has a passion for all genres of music, her family and friends, and making the best out of every day. Karen lives in Bucks County, PA with her better half, Mike and their two furry kids – Tonka and Arlo.
