Karen Mathis

​Karen Mathis has been in the television/cable industry for more than 34 years. From her early beginnings in various roles in television production at local television stations in Charlotte, NC, to her current role as Programming’s Acquisitions Production Manager at INSP Network in Indian Land, SC; she understands to remain vital in the industry and in a leadership role, one must be willing to learn and grow continuously.

 

Throughout her career, Karen has held an array of television production roles for live and recorded field and studio shows, and newscasts. She has written hundreds of scripts and has field directed many local and regional commercials and short-form pieces. Karen’s numerous commercial production awards include a Telly Award for a Business Journal commercial while at Time Warner Cable.

 

During her tenure at INSP, Karen has worked in several roles within the Programming Department. She has served as New Media Manager for several network websites as well as Senior Producer for various original Programming productions and Acquisitions content. As Acquisitions Production Manager, Karen currently oversees Programming’s Acquisitions Production Team, which includes managing both the file-based production workflow and the original movies and series deliverables. Other responsibilities include maintaining INSP’s Standards and Practices as well as vetting numerous series and movies for air.

 

Karen remains committed to initiatives at INSP and looks forward to more years of success. Karen has a son, Dillon and stepson, James. She lives in Belmont, NC with her husband Larry and their two Chihuahuas, Buddy and Lily.
