Katherine Wong

Katherine Wong serves as the senior corporate communications specialist for The Weather Company, which includes The Weather Channel (weather.com), Weather Underground (wunderground.com), and WSI (Weather Services International, wsi.com). In this role, Wong is responsible for creating comprehensive press strategies with a focus on internal and external communications efforts for digital editorial (weather.com), original programming, and ad sales.

 

Previously, Wong was the corporate communications specialist at Crown Media Family Networks, where she developed and executed trade and consumer communications for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. In this capacity, she collaborated across departments to generate media coverage for ad sales, distribution, finance, programming, and research teams. Wong was also responsible for internal communications and executive speaking engagements. In addition, she played a key role in the company’s investor relations function and Hallmark Channel’s animal advocacy campaign, Pet Project.

 

Prior to Crown Media, Wong was the ad sales public relations assistant for Turner Broadcasting. In that position, she supported ad sales public relations efforts across all networks and lines of business, and spearheaded talent requests for Turner Network Sales. Wong began her career at Viacom, in Nickelodeon corporate communications.

 

A native New Yorker, Wong holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
