Kathy Hatala

Kathy Hatala is the SVP, National Accounts Speakeasy and Managing Director SelfLink.com. Founded in 1973, Speakeasy is a global communication consulting firm that helps employees, at all levels, regarding their communication style & delivery, as well as strategic messaging.  

 

Kathy manages national accounts for Speakeasy, mainly in the entertainment & media industry, including Comcast/NBCUNI, Disney-ESPN, Discovery, Turner Broadcasting, BET Networks, Viacom Media Networks, Scripps Networks Interactive, A&E Networks, HBO, Cox Communications, Charter, Showtime Networks, etc…  Hatala also lead sales and development efforts for SelfLink.com – Speakeasy’s new online, micro-learning portal specifically designed to meet the learning needs of up-and-coming new talent and working professionals.

 

Kathy’s 20+ years of leadership experience with consulting and media companies includes business and relationship development, team management, sales execution & strategic marketing solutions. Prior to Speakeasy, Kathy was the VP of Sales & Marketing at Turner Network Sales, where she managed the content distribution sales team targeting national accounts. Hatala drove significant revenue by achieving distribution goals, retention strategies and marketing partnerships for Turner’s ten cable networks, including CNN, TNT, TBS, Headline News, Cartoon Network, truTV and Turner Classic Movies. 

 

In addition, Kathy held sales & marketing positions within Viacom Media Networks, as Vice President of Affiliate Marketing for Nickelodeon & TV Land, as well as Director of National Accounts for MTV Networks. She started her affiliate sales career at The Weather Channel.

 

Kathy has been a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications for numerous years, including 9 years on the WICT Southeast Board. WICT’s mission is to develop women leaders in the industry, and Kathy has held the following board positions: Director of Mentoring, Vice President, President, Previous Past President, Director at Large focused on executive level programs and now Director of Outreach. In 2009, she was the recipient of the organization’s Red Letter Awards for Mentoring Excellence.

 

Kathy has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from NC State University and lives in Peachtree Corners, GA with her husband, Jeff, and yellow Labrador, Maddie.
