Katie Miles-Ley is the Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development for Starz Entertainment Group LLC (SEG), and is primarily responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the company, as well as strategic planning, as it relates to all functional areas within human resources. Ms. Miles-Ley brings 19 years’ of domestic and international human resources experience, acquisition implementation, and business operations experience to SEG. Prior to joining SEG, Ms. Miles-Ley held previous Executive HR positions within the telecommunications industry (e.g., Senior Director of Human Resources for High Speed Access Corporation and Corporate Director of Employee Relations and Development for Tele-Communication, Inc. (TCI)) to name a few. Prior to joining TCI, she was an international human resources generalist for Sprint International, responsible for all human resources aspects of Sprint’s worldwide operations. Ms. Miles-Ley has a broad range of experience working with clients of all sizes. However, in her current position, Ms. Miles-Ley participates as an internal consultant and as a human resources strategist. The focus of her efforts in that capacity is to work with senior management to align the short- and long-term human resource function with the strategic direction of the company. A primary involvement has been in facilitating change in organizations due to growth and acquisition, improving effectiveness of mature organizations, and leading downsizing and divestiture efforts. One of Ms. Miles-Ley’s greatest strengths is her ability to synthesize technical human resources expertise, as well as financial, legal, marketing, operations, and management expertise to derive high value-added business solutions. Ms. Miles-Ley’s experience has provided a focus for integrating human resources efforts into the strategic direction of organizations while providing the flexibility of responding to changing opportunities and directions. Ms. Miles-Ley has a Masters of Business Administration Degree (MBA) from the University of Denver and received her undergraduate degree in HR (with honors) from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. Ms. Miles-Ley will also be currently pursuing her Juris Doctorate.
