Kim Cartwright is Senior Director, Content Acquisition, at Comcast Cable Communications. The Content Acquisition Department is responsible for the negotiations of, and operational compliance with, over 400 affiliation agreements between cable content providers and Comcast. In this capacity, Kim is responsible for operational and administrative compliance pertaining to each of Comcast’s affiliation agreements. Additionally, she is the main liaison between the Content Acquisition Department and Comcast’s cable systems representing approximately 1,500 channel lineups across the company. Kim also manages Comcast’s programming relationships with its joint venture partnerships with Bresnan Communications, Mid Continent Cable and US Cable (“JV’s”). As part of managing and acting as liaison between Comcast systems, JV’s and the Content Acquisition Department, Kim is responsible for communicating and enforcing the terms and conditions of the affiliation agreements governing carriage on those systems. Kim also works with the JV and Comcast cable systems to help them manage their bandwidth usage, channel placement requirements and high definition launch plans to meet the needs of the various systems in ways that are compatible with Comcast’s contractual obligations.
Kim played a key role of integrating systems serving more than 16 million subscribers into the Comcast model since she joined the Content Acquisition Department in 2000. Her previous roles in the Content Acquisition Department were Director, Content Acquisition and prior to that, Programming Manager.
Prior to joining the Content Acquisition Department, Kim worked for Comcast Corporation doing financial reporting to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as Supervisor, Financial Reporting preceded by both Senior Accountant & Staff Accountant, Financial Reporting.
Kim’s career began at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (f/k/a Coopers & Lybrand), a public accounting firm, as an Associate followed by a Senior Associate in the Business Assurance division of the firm.
Kim is a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an Accounting major. She has been a member of Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) since 2000. In that time, she served as a Board Member from 2004 through 2008 and as Sponsorship Officer from 2004 through 2007. She has also completed Comcast’s Fundamentals of Leadership (FOL) and Executive Leadership Forum (ELF) in her tenure at Comcast.
