Director, Events

Kristen Fagley joined WICT in September 2018 as Director of Events bringing with her 15 years of event management and marketing experience within the non-profit sector. Before WICT, Kristen served as Director of Marketing and Development for Shelters to Shutters, a national non-profit organization that provides housing and employment opportunities to individuals and families experiencing homelessness through direct partnerships with the multifamily industry. There Kristen was responsible for creating strategic corporate partnerships, marketing and communications strategies and conceptualizing and executing special events to grow impact for the start-up organization.

Prior to Shelters to Shutters, Kristen was Senior Director of Special Events at the Prevent Cancer Foundation where she planned and executed their portfolio of fundraising events responsible for raising over 50% or the organization’s overall budget. Events included their high profile Prevent Cancer Spring Gala and 5k Walk/Run at Nationals Park.

Kristen worked for five years as Marketing and Event Manager at Fight For Children, where she worked on two of DC’s top charity benefits, Fight Night, a 2,000 + guest event at the Washington Hilton which raises over $4 million and School Night, a 600 person annual gala with entertainment including Queen Latifah, Wyclef Jean and Ziggy Marley. She has also welcomed current and past Presidents of the United States, Supreme Court Justices, Joint Chiefs of Staff and members of Congress to her events working closing with Secret Service and Advance teams during her four year tenure planning the Alfalfa Club’s Annual Black Tie Dinner and as stage manager for the 2013 Commander In Chief Inaugural Ball.

Kristen holds a BBA in Finance and Hospitality Management from The George Washington University and resides in Washington, D.C. In her free time, Kristen volunteers as President of the Board for Victory4All US, Inc., a non-profit organization providing high quality education and family resources to over 600 children in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa. On the weekends you can find Kristen swimming, biking or running around D.C. in preparation for one of the many triathlons or other endurance races she is competing in.
