Kristi Kramersmeier

Kristi Kramersmeier is the Director of New Product Development for Advance/Newhouse Communications.  In this position, Kristi is responsible for driving the introduction of new interactive television (ITV) and video on-demand (VOD) services for Bright House Networks.  She also supports strategic planning and product development for future digital video, on-line, and mobile services.

Kristi has an extensive background in set-top box technology dating back to 1988 when she started working for Microware Systems Corporation, an embedded systems software provider.  While at Microware, Kristi worked in Tokyo, Japan where she specialized in licensing software to Asian CE manufacturers and other vendors who supplied set-top boxes for some of the world’s first digital ITV trials deployed by Bell Atlantic, Tele-TV, and Hong Kong Telecom.  She later returned to the company’s U.S. headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa, where she held various director-level positions in product marketing, product management, and contract management.

After spending nearly twelve years with Microware, Kristi took a break in her career in 2000-2001 to obtain a master’s degree from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management located in Glendale, Arizona.  In addition to her graduate studies, she also managed several corporate consulting projects for high-profile clients including Johnson & Johnson Japan, EDS Japan, Accenture, and Intel.  Upon graduation, Kristi received the Barton Kyle Yount award, Thunderbird’s most prestigious student award based on scholarship, accomplishment, and character.

Kristi then joined IBM Microelectronics in Burlington, Vermont in 2002 as an integrated supply chain planning analyst.  Her responsibilities at IBM included assessing worldwide capacity utilization across multiple fabrication plants and tracking the manufacture and delivery of advanced microprocessors used in a variety of IBM server products including the BlueGene supercomputer.  In 2004, Kristi made the move to Syracuse, New York, to join the corporate team at Advance/Newhouse Communications. 

Kristi holds a Master of International Management (global MBA) degree from Thunderbird, and a B.A. degree in Small Business Management/Marketing from Buena Vista University.  A native of Iowa, Kristi has traveled extensively throughout the Pacific Rim and Southeast Asia.  She is conversant in Japanese and considers Japan her home away from home after having spent much time there as an exchange student, college student, and working professional.  Kristi is a member of WICT, CTAM, and SCTE, and participates in the Advanced Technology sub-committee of the CTAM On Demand Consortium.
