Kristin Alm

Kristin Alm has been the corporate communications manager at Scripps Networks Interactive since 2008. After a two-year stint overseeing an aggressive media relations program to promote all the company’s digital properties, her focus shifted to internal communications and helping individual employees and departments tell their best stories. Kristin now continues to work with internal clients such as human resources, information technology and the company’s international division, but has taken an expanded role in corporate media relations, specifically working with advertising and trade press to position Scripps as a leader in lifestyle media.

Previously, Kristin was public relations manager for Knoxville-based Goody’s Family Clothing for seven years. There she managed all the community relations programs, public and media relations, and corporate events for the company. Prior to Goody’s, Kristin worked as public relations and marketing director for Esau, Inc., where she acted as chief publicist and media buyer for more than 20 annual consumer events ranging from boating and fishing to crafting and antiquing.

Kristin is president of the Public Relations Society of America Volunteer Chapter and sits on the board of the Knox County Arc, an organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She holds a master’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from the University of Tennessee, as well as a bachelor’s degree in English and communications from Tusculum College. Kristin resides in Knoxville, Tenn., with her husband Michael and their two daughters, Ellery and Harper.
