Laura Brubaker

Laura Brubaker serves as the Director of Public Relations for Comcast’s Western New England Region, which employs 2,000 individuals and serves more than 800,000 customers in Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, Vermont and the Carmel, New York area.  In this role she is responsible for developing and implementing public relations strategies that position Comcast as a technology leader in the marketplace and showcase the company’s products and services and corporate philanthropy.  Brubaker serves as a company spokesperson and oversees external communications for the region, ensuring brand consistency and unified messaging.

Brubaker previously worked for Madison Square Garden where she served as the Director of Public Relations for the company in Connecticut. In this capacity, she oversaw all public relations functions for the Hartford Civic Center, Rentschler Field and the Hartford Wolf Pack AHL Hockey Club.  Prior to this, Brubaker worked as Public Relations Manager for CN8, The Comcast Network in Philadelphia. There she was a five-time recipient of the Pepperpot Award from the Philadelphia chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for excellence in public relations. Brubaker began her career in public relations working for French botanical beauty leader Yves Rocher, where she served as a Senior Publicist handling publicity for the company in the US and Canadian markets.

Ms. Brubaker is involved in many professional and community organizations.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors for The National Conference of Community & Justice of Connecticut / Western Massachusetts, Inc. and serves as a “Big Sister” through Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters’ “Beyond School Walls” program.  Brubaker is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Association of Cable Communicators (ACC), Hartford Young Professional Entrepreneurs (HYPE) and Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT).  She is currently serving as a mentor as part of the 2010 WICT New England Mentor Program and served on the 2008 & 2009 WICT New England Gala’s Presenters and Public Relations Committees, respectively.  Brubaker has also served as a Community Investment Volunteer for the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut since 2008 and volunteers her time with Dress for Success Hartford Chapter and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Connecticut Chapter.

Ms. Brubaker earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communications / Public Relations from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. She resides in West Hartford, Connecticut.
